An Unexpected Proposal (Animated weapon)

Idyllshire (X:5.7, Y:5.5)

To start the quest line for the relic weapons, you must meet some requirements. First, you must be level 60 and have a job that is either a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic. Second, you must have finished the main story of Heavensward. Third, you must accept the one-time quest An Unexpected Proposal from Rowena in Idyllshire. his quest will unlock the Soul without Life quest, which you need to do for each relic weapon you want. The Soul without Life quest will ask you to get an Astral Nodule and an Umbral Nodule from Syndony in Mor Dhona(x22,y5). You can get these nodules in two ways:

• Option 1: Farm FATEs in each of the six Heavensward zones for crystals. You need one type of crystal from each zone. The drop rate is relatively high as of 2023: about one in three FATEs will drop a crystal, so the grind is not onerous. However, due to the nature of random drops, you might get a crystal from the first FATE as well as, for example, from sixth FATE.
  • Collect a Luminous Wind Crystal from The Sea of Clouds, a Luminous Fire Crystal from Azys Lla, and a Luminous Lightning Crystal from The Churning Mists and turn in for an Astral Nodule.
  • Collect a Luminous Ice Crystal from Coerthas Western Highlands, a Luminous Earth Crystal from The Dravanian Forelands, and a Luminous Water Crystal from The Dravanian Hinterlands and turn in for an Umbral Nodule.
• Option 2: Turn in a Zodiac Zeta Weapon for an Astral Nodule and Umbral Nodule. This will cause you to lose the selected Zodiac Zeta Weapon!
  • However, this will allow the player to purchase replicas of all completed Zodiac Weapons (for glamour) from Drake even without the original weapon.

Turn in the Astral Nodule and Umbral Nodule to Ardashir in Azys Lla (x7,y11) to complete the quest and receive the Animated weapon.

Toughening Up (Awoken weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

To upgrade your Animated weapon, you have to do the Toughening Up quest for each job. This means you have to run 10 dungeons with the weapon and make sure it's still on when you leave through the exit portal. The dungeons have a specific order that you can see in the quest. If you are a high level player, you can do the dungeons by yourself with the Unrestricted Party option. Here are the dungeons you need to do:  

• Snowcloak
• Sastasha (Hard)
• The Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard)
• The Keeper of the Lake
• The Wanderer's Palace (Hard)
• Amdapor Keep (Hard)
• The Dusk Vigil
• Sohm Al
• The Aery
• The Vault

Between each set of dungeons, you have to interact with a specific NPC. You can find out who they are by looking at your quest objective. Once you finish all the dungeons, return to the quest giver and get your weapon upgrade.

Coming into Its Own (Anima weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

For Coming into Its Own, you will need to collect the following:

• To upgrade your Anima Weapon, you will need 40 Unidentifiable items: 10x each of Unidentifiable Bone, Unidentifiable Shell, Unidentifiable Ore, and Unidentifiable Seeds
  • You can get these items from different places, such as buying them from Sundry Splendors for 150 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (6,000 total), trading with tribal tokens (not recommended unless you have been saving them for this purpose), loot from Alexander: Gordias, or other sources. See Anima Weapons/Quest for more details. The best option is to buy them with Tomestones as usual.
• 4x each of Adamantite Francesca, Titanium Alloy Mirror, Dispelling Arrow, and Kingcake (16 items total
  • These can be crafted, or can be purchased from other players via the Market Board for gil, or purchased from your Grand Company quartermaster for 5,000 Company Seals each (80,000 total). See Anima Weapons/Quest for more details.

Trade these items with Cristiana in Mor Dhona (X:21.4, Y:5.4) for the items you need to turn in to upgrade your weapon to Anima Weapon.

Finding Your Voice (Hyperconductive weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

For Finding Your Voice, buy 5 Aether Oil from Sundry Splendors for 350 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (1,750 total) and turn them in to complete the quest and upgrade your Hyperconductive weapon.

A Dream Fulfilled (Reconditioned weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

To complete A Dream Fulfilled, you have to get Umbrite and Crystal Sand. The number depends on luck, but usually it's around 57-60 for each. You can buy Umbrite for 75 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (4275-4500 total), and you can exchange items with Ulan in Idyllshire for Crystal Sand. You get 2 Crystal Sand for each exchange. Most of the items are not worth trading, and some are no longer available.

The only recommended options are:

• 5x Blue Crafters' Scrip Token (125 White Crafters' Scrip total) = 2 Crystal Sand
• 5x Blue Gatherers' Scrip Token (125 White Gatherers' Scrip total) = 2 Crystal Sand
• 5x Superior Enchanted Ink and 5x Thavnairian Mist (225 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics total) = 2 Crystal Sand.

150 of each item are needed to trade for 60 Crystal Sand, at a total cost of either 6,750, or 150 Blue Crafters' / Gatherers' Scrip Token (3,750 scrip).

This will complete the quest and let you upgrade your weapon to Reconditioned version.

Future Proof (Sharpened weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

To complete the Future Proof quest, you will need 50 Singing Clusters. These are special items that can be obtained in different ways:

• Purchase from Sundry Splendors for 40 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each, or 2,000 total.
• 1x from the Daily Quest Cut from a Different Cloth, which requires you to run Duty Roulette: Level 50/60/70/80 Dungeons.
• 18x from the Weekly Quest Seeking Inspiration.To finish the quest, you need to run Duty Roulette: Leveling three times. (You can do this even if you have already received the daily bonus for the roulette.) You can also keep doing this quest every week even if you are not working on an anima weapon, so you can stock up on Singing Clusters for later.

Born Again Anima (Complete weapon)

Azys Lla (X:7.4, Y:11.5)

The next stage of Anima weapons requires you to run three dungeons and collect light from various activities. The quest is called Born Again Anima. and it will reward you with a new weapon model that has a glowing effect.

The list of dangeons you'll need to run:

• Sohm Al (Hard)
• The Great Gubal Library (Hard)
• The Lost City of Amdapor (Hard)

You can do them in any order and at different times. But you have to use the same job that matches your Anima Weapon in the dungeons.

To increase your aetheric density, you have to do various Heavensward content with your weapon on. This is the main challenge. The best way to do this is to clear Alexander - The Eyes of the Creator (Savage) (A9S) around 20 times unsynced . You can solo this with item level 615 or more, or with some other max-level players (you can check party finder if someone is making a group for this step). Use the Enhanced Anima Glass to check your progress. Go to the  Verification Node when you are done.

Also you will need a Newborn Soulstone.

To get a Newborn Soulstone, you have to complete Some Assembly Required. This quest asks you to bring 15 Pneumite, which you can buy from Sundry Splendors with 100 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (1,500 in total) or from your Grand Company with 4,000 Company Seals each (60,000 in total).

Once these steps are complete, turn in the quest to upgrade your weapon.

Body and Soul (Lux weapon)

Lux Anima Weapons are the ultimate upgrade of this weapon series. They have the same appearance as the previous versions, but with more dazzling special effects.

To obtain these weapons, you must first complete two prerequisite quests: Body and Soul and Words of Wisdom. Afterwards, for Best Friends Forever you must face 12 trials that are divided into four groups. You can only progress to the next group after clearing all the trials in the previous one. However, you can choose any order within each group. The trials are as follows:

• Step 1:  
  • The Bowl of Embers (Hard)
  • The Howling Eye (Hard)
  • The Navel (Hard
• Step 2:  
  • Thornmarch (Hard)
  • The Whorleater (Hard)
  • The Striking Tree (Hard)
  • The Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Hard)
• Step 3:  
  • Thok ast Thok (Hard)
  • The Limitless Blue (Hard)
• Step 4:  
  • Containment Bay S1T7 
  • Containment Bay P1T6
  • Containment Bay Z1T9

Now you have to buy 1 bottle of Archaic Enchanted Ink from Sundry Splendors. This will cost you 500 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. 

When you have done both, trials and bought an Archaic Enchanted Ink , go back to the quest giver and get your reward!
